Department of Medicine

The collection of this department is divided into three major groups: anatomical specimens, pathological specimens, and forensic medicine specimens, going back to the 19th century. They contribute to not only modern medical research but also investigation of the early education of medical studies in Japan. In addition, the collection includes specimens useful for research into cultural history, such as ancient Egyptian mummies and related objects.
